Caretta (Sards)

The Sardinian costume contains elements from Italian, Spanish and Moorish traditions, probably this is why it is so colourful. Women's bonnet is decorated by embroidery made partially with gold, and the images are unique for the village of Orgosolo in central Sardinia. Every village of the island may boast its own type of decoration, and the whole of Sardinia has over 400 varieties of costume. Sardinia, Italy, 21st cent.
