Tyrolean hat of green suede with lace around the base and the feather or brush on one side became popular in Germany in the 19th century, when people began wearing it during the celebration of the famous Oktoberfest. In the late 19th century, it became firmly associated with Robin Hood, who, I think, was not aware of its existence, and it was being sold in fashionable boutiques around the world. To this day the Tyrolean hat is worn by the hunters from all over Europe and in the Alps; it remains part of the national costume. Austria, Tirol.
