Exceptionally severe winters in Central Asia resulted in a style of popular headwear made of fur of a steppe fox or (for poorer people) sheep wool. Nomads wear it all the time as it protects against both cold and heat. Both men and women may wear the tebetey in Kyrghyzstan. Kyrghyzstan.
