The Kursk version of soroka stands out among the women’s headdresses of the average Russian areas. This headdress actually consists of three elements: a "hoof-shaped” cap, neck flap, and wide ribbon. But first and foremost on the head was put a cap or the povoinik, free of any decorations. Then the neck flap of rectangular shape was fastened behind, and the highest point was the headgear, covered with gold brocade fabric. Sometimes red wildflowers could be inserted into this fundamental work of art. Russia, Kursk, 19th cent.
