Girls festive headress. Made of cotton with elements of brocade fabric, pendants on each side are made of brocade yarn wrapped around a wooden base. The upper part is decorated with beads along the perimeter. Such head dressings (also called dressings or ribbons, or lenkas) were festive headdresses of girls and derive from the usual ribbon or lace used to tie up hair. In each region, decorations and colors of dressings were different as often differed the dressings’ names. Russia, Tula, the late 19th - early 20th cent.
