Papakha - headwear of pastoralists of Central Asia, and from there it comes to Eastern Europe in the Middle Ages. Papakha gradually migrated to the Slavs, in countries where warm wool hat was never excessive, and from them to the neighboring nations. In eastern Romania and Moldova Papakha hat traditionally worn by shepherds in the high Carpathians, but part of the traditional costume it remains today. Romania, Moldova, 20th cent.
