Montero

The Quechua from across the region gather at the weekly market of the town of Chinchero in the province of Urubamba of the Peruvian region of Cusco. Here I bought this antique hat without the crown and upturned brims. These hats in Cusco are worn by men; today they often wear such hats during holidays, but the elderly continue to use the old-fashioned traditional Montero every day. However, in this case, they prefer less cheerful colors (see photo)
