Peru

Female

Each of the 13 provinces of a small region of Cusco in southern Peru has its own intricate costume that is worn by the Quechua men and women. In the province of Canas (south of the region) live about 45 thousand people, but here they have their own unique type of a hat: wide and flat form without the crown woven of black alpaca. This Montero actually has a cavity: in the lower part there is a hole for the head. Additionally the headwear is held on the head by straps tied under the chin.
