The variation of the Lower Norwegian aube, which was once widespread throughout Central, Northern and Western parts of Europe. Designed to cover women's hair from the eyes, it eventually turned from a simple piece of linen fabric to a distinctive costume ornament. In particular, this copy, created in the vicinity of Bjerkreem near Stavanger, is decorated with handmade colored silk embroidery, white lace and pink fabric strip along the entire border. There is an embroidered flower on the back of the head, which can also be used to determine the origin of the headgear, which is a kind of "coat of arms" of Bjerkreim, and is also embroidered on traditional women's purses that tend to hang around the waist.
