One of the most traditional types of men's winter hat in Mongolia is the lovuz, which is a quilted, and trimmed with fox fur hat. Usually it is worn in the countryside; in the city the lovuz can be found in Buddhist monasteries where come pilgrim nomads wearing the lovuz. In fact, it was the monastery where the picture of a boy wearing the lovuz was taken. The design of such hats is quite simple: the lined fox pelt is wrapped around the head, the back has quilted lining and drawstrings to adjust the size, and so children and adults can wear the lovuz.
