Undoubtedly, this hat used to belong to a shaman or some cult priest. The Ifugao people, of course, were considered the best headhunters all over the island of Luzon, but the head of a monkey is not all that necessary for a warrior, though it could have had a ritual significance for traditional priests. The cross-link connecting the front and rear of the headgear is also made of bone, but it is difficult to determine its origin. The base is made of woven cane.
