This cap is used for wrapping a turban. The golden embroidery is done by hand with a special thread called tila. This hat is very popular among Mohmand, Waziristan tribes of Pakistan and its also very popular in Paktia, Khost and other frontier regions of Afghanistan.This headwear is rather old: its inner lining is made of newspapers and judging by the font it can be dated to the early 20th century.
