This amusing headwear, apparently belonged to the kadi (judge) or an imam ( Muslim priest ) somewhere in the western part of Yemen. From a usual keffiyeh it differs by its height - it is somewhat larger than the daily round caps of the Yemenis. And second, by shape, flaring downwards. It is because of the shape that I purchased this keffiyeh in the antique market in Sana. However, its story remains to be clarified yet. The keffiyeh is made of cotton fabric on a solid basis, inside there is a thick felt pad. It is trimmed with an intricate pattern across the surface.
