Country:
Uganda
Nation:
Karimojong
Male
Female

The headband is often the only men's headware in East Africa. It mostly serves not for protecting the head but for decorating it. Headbands are widespread across the whole region. In Uganda and Kenya, the peoples of Karimojong and Maasai make them of metal wire decorated with beads. To make it more attractive, a few pendants are added to surround eyes.
