Chullo

Country:
Peru
Nation:
Quechua
Male

The word "chullo” comes from the language of the Aymara Indians, living for centuries in high Andes in southern Peru and Bolivia. Chullo serves to protect against frost, which in the summer time is fairly strong here; the same purpose have flaps ending up with the strings to tie under the chin. Numerous beaded jewelry and pompons adorn the chullo. The chullo is worn by men all over the region of Cusco. May be the Great Inca used to wear it, too?
