The Turkic-speaking Qashqai nomads inhabit the provinces of Fars, Khuzestan and Isfahan in southwestern Iran. They appeared here no later than the 12th century and still largely keep to a nomadic lifestyle. The material of their traditional headdress is felt, and the characteristic shape is formed by brims, raised high on both sides. On top of the crown a red six-rayed star is sewn, another woolen pattern of green color in the shape of a flower, or a trefoil is located in the frontal part. The everyday headdresses are poorer and lacking the patterns, however, the form of the cap is always the same. Iran, Shiraz.
