This headwear is rather old: its inner lining is made of newspapers and judging by the font it can be dated to the early 20th century. However, there is no more information about it; the antique shop clerk in the town of Karimabad of the Hunza region in northern Pakistan could only say that the headwear had probably belonged to a Mullah. It could also have been part of the groom's wedding clothing. In any case, a man could not have afforded to wear such a rich gold fabric every day.
